Why it's great:
The Republic of Tea Decaf British Breakfast Black Tea is made from high-quality, naturally decaffeinated black tea sourced from Africa. The decaffeination process is environmentally friendly, using carbon dioxide and high pressure rather than traditional chemical methods. The product is packaged in a recyclable tin, which is durable and helps reduce single-use plastics. Additionally, the tea bags can be composted, making them an excellent choice for environmentally conscious consumers.
Sustainable Actions:
To extend the product's lifecycle and minimize environmental impact, users can compost the used tea bags after brewing. Reuse the tin for storage or crafts, and consider buying in bulk to reduce packaging waste. When disposing of the tin, ensure it is recycled according to local guidelines. Enjoying the tea using fresh, filtered water can also contribute to a more sustainable brewing process.
Features
- FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR TEA: Our British Breakfast Decaf is a robust blend of naturally decaffeinated black teas. This is no mass-market blend, but a savory mixture of select leaves that sets a new taste standard for this classic beverage. Great with a splash of milk.
- DECAFFEINATED TEA: Citizens who desire the pleasures of tea without caffeine may rest assured. We offer a splendid array of premium decaffeinated teas. All are naturally decaffeinated using an environmentally-friendly carbon dioxide/high-pressure process—absolutely free of any commercial chemical extraction. When it dissipates, the caffeine vanishes as well, leaving the tea’s healthful properties and rich flavors intact.
- CAFFEINE IN TEA: On average, a 6 oz cup of black tea has about 50 milligrams of caffeine — less than half the amount in a standard cup of brewed coffee. A similarly- sized cup of oolong tea contains ~30-40 mgs of caffeine, while green tea contains roughly 20-30 mgs. White tea contains just 15-20 mgs per cup. Herbal teas are naturally caffeine- free. It’s also important to note that not all of the caffeine can be fully removed from decaf teas; typically, a very small amount (such as 2-4 mgs/cup).
- STEEPING INSTRUCTIONS: Simply heat fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil. Then pour 6 oz of water over a tea bag and steep for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag and enjoy Sip by Sip. Add a bit of honey or a splash of milk if desired. For iced tea, double the amount of tea bags and pour over a generous amount of ice. After steeping, add the used tea bags to compost or soil — they make gardens happy.
- GLUTEN-FREE INGREDIENTS: Naturally decaffeinated black tea from Africa
