The inclusion of protective rubber feet on the box bottom ensures stable tabletop use, while the adjustable strap and leatherette handle facilitate effortless transportation. A sure-lock angle hinge ensures a comfortable and stable working position, free from any movement or adjustment during painting. The patented brass substrate holding sliders, integrated into the top of the box, provide a versatile and stable system for accommodating a variety of panel sizes. Each slider is designed to hold two panels, measuring 3mm to 6mm in thickness, without them touching, and will also friction-hold stretched canvas up to 7/8" deep. The SoHo Scout box accommodates paintings up to 9x12" in size, both horizontally and vertically, and features integrated lid sliders that maintain a clear view of the subject. The box comes equipped with two palettes: a varnished sliding wood palette with a dual-purpose design that separates materials from the storage compartment, and a clear acrylic palette that allows for a grey sheet underneath for enhanced hue definition. The fold-out wood tray provides additional working space for paints, solvents, and brushes, featuring six brush holes and a small plastic foot that keeps palettes in place during travel. The bottom storage compartment offers ample space for 75ml paint tubes, divided into two sections for convenient storage of brushes, palette knives, pencils, or other art supplies.
